Description

Have a great idea for a project but not sure how to plan it properly? Many community projects struggle not because the idea is weak, but because the planning is unclear.

Join ECCQ for a practical in-person workshop on Project Planning, designed for multicultural community organisations, volunteers, and community leaders who want to turn ideas into well-structured and achievable projects.

This session will guide participants through the key steps of planning a project, from defining your goal to identifying resources, timelines, and risks.

What you will learn

  • What a project is and how it differs from everyday activities
  • How to define a clear project goal and outcomes
  • How to identify tasks, timelines and responsibilities
  • How to plan resources and partnerships
  • How to manage risks and avoid common project challenges
  • Simple tools such as project planning tables and Gantt charts

Why project planning matters

A clear project plan helps your team stay organised, work towards the same goal, and communicate effectively with partners and funders. It also makes it easier to track progress and adjust when things change.

What makes this workshop valuable

The session includes examples, simple tools, and guided activities that help participants begin planning their own projects during the workshop.

You will leave with a clear structure for planning projects that can be used for grants, community initiatives, and programs.

Who should attend

• Community leaders and committee members
• Volunteers and project coordinators
• Staff from multicultural community organisations
• Anyone planning a community project or applying for funding.
