The program focuses on meeting the growing demand for interpreters in Queensland.

We are pleased to confirm the support of the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) and the Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators (AUSIT).

The primary objectives of the IESP are to:

  • Empower the Interpreter Workforce: Provide targeted training and skill enhancement for previous, current and aspiring interpreters, building a skilled and confident workforce.
  • Foster Stronger Connections: Connect participants with industry experts and potential employers.
  • Elevate Workplace Standards: Improve working conditions for interpreters, creating supportive and thriving environments where their contributions are valued.

The IESP is a professional development program catering to bilingual speakers, interpreters, and language service users and employers. The purpose of the IESP is to attract people to the interpreting profession and retain the interpreters that are currently practicing.
