To achieve quality and culturally safe care, aged care service providers need to embrace culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) older people’s needs and preferences and put it at the centre of their delivery. This video, developed by ECCQ Multicultural Partners, as part of their Cultural Awareness Training in Aged Care, goes through the seven Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, making emphasis in how they impact CALD communities.
In 1 November 2025, the Strengthened Standards came into effect as part of the new Aged Care Act 2024 that places the rights and needs of older people at the centre of the aged care system.
