MindCare Digital Dementia Prevention Workshop

ECCQ is proud to partner with La Trobe University on a national digital health program raising awareness in multicultural communities about lifestyle factors that can reduce the risk of developing dementia.

Last week, ECCQ hosted a MindCare Digital Community Workshop with members of the African community in Logan. The workshop formed part of a national co-design process to ensure the program reflects the voices and needs of multicultural communities.

MindCare Digital is an online program developed with multicultural communities to make dementia prevention more accessible. It offers culturally relevant and practical tips to support brain health, including eating well, staying active, staying connected, managing health conditions, sleeping better, drinking less alcohol, and caring for your hearing.

The session gave participants the opportunity to share their feedback on the resources, particularly around cultural relevance, clarity, and feasibility. This input will help refine the program to make it resonate with diverse communities across Australia.

We thank the La Trobe University team for their leadership in this important project, and the African community members who generously contributed their insights and experiences.
