Hello, everyone! My name is Lan Wei, and I am thrilled to be a part of ECCQ’s Hepatitis, HIV, and Sexual Health Program.
With great excitement and a strong passion for making a difference in the lives of others, I am delighted to join ECCQ, bringing with me over 10 years of experience in the healthcare field. Having completed my Bachelor of Health Science in 2013 and working alongside doctors in Melbourne, I have had the privilege of meeting individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, which has been a truly enriching experience.
During my tenure in Melbourne, I witnessed firsthand the challenges that people from various cultural backgrounds face when it comes to accessing healthcare services due to language barriers. This realization motivated me to use my skills and expertise to create a positive impact on their lives.
This year, I made the decision to relocate to Brisbane and dedicate myself to serving the Chinese community. My fluency in Chinese and experience in healthcare have provided me with the tools to bridge the language gap and help individuals understand and navigate the complexities of the healthcare system.
I am proud to be a part of ECCQ, an organisation that shares my dedication to multicultural communities and strives to create a more inclusive and equitable society. Together, we can work towards breaking down barriers and promoting better health outcomes for all.
