Holiday Season- Emergency Information for Community

Please note that our office will close during the holiday period from 5:00 pm Friday 20 December, reopening on Monday 6th January 2025 at 9:00 am. There are a number of services available during the holiday period if you are in need of help.

Emergency Relief

Health Services

Medicare Urgent Care Clinics (UCCs): UCCs are operating 7-days a week throughout the Christmas period to provide care for urgent but non-life-threatening conditions. These clinics offer bulk billing for eligible treatments, including minor infections, urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted infections, and gastroenteritis.

  • Logan (Browns Plains) Medicare UCC  is located at 2-10 Grand Plaza Dr, Browns Plains QLD 4118. The clinic is open 7 days a week, from 8am until 10pm.
  • South Brisbane Medicare UCC  is located at level 4, 20 Cornwall Street, Woolloongabba QLD 4102. The clinic is open 7 days a week, from 8am until 10pm.
  • The Oxley Medicare UCC  is located at 169 Seventeen Mile Rocks Road, Oxley QLD 4075, within the Canossa Hospital complex. The clinic is open 7 days a week, from 8am to 8pm.

Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme administration end of year arrangements

The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR), the Department of Foreign and Affairs (DFAT) and the Pacific Labour Facility (PLF) will all close their offices from 12:30 pm Tuesday 24 December 2024 and return to work on Thursday 2 January 2025.

During this time, employers and workers can call the PALM scheme support service line on (1800 51 51 31) to report a critical or serious incident or a PALM scheme worker requiring immediate assistance.
