Collaboration Is Key: Exercise Physiology sessions for My health for life Loganlea

In August, the Chronic Disease Program’s Paul Tomane and Bahar Nader delivered their third ‘My health for life’ session with students at Loganlea TAFE. During the session the participants learnt about the importance of exercise and the Australian Physical Activity guidelines, and how moving your body for 30 minutes a day can reduce your risk of chronic disease like type 2 diabetes or cardiovascular disease. Monday’s session had two additional guests, Exercise Physiologists Britney and Anna, from Hiya Health, joined the day to deliver some light exercise to the students.

“The EP’s used their time to do some engaging exercises with the students, they gave everyone handouts to take home covering all the moves they did in the class. Everyone enjoyed the session and having something practical to take home from the exercise professionals solidifies the message we were sending, it is important to move your body at any age”.

Collaboration across health divisions to support our community is key to creating change. Working alongside allied health and other health professionals ensures the community gets the best care to support their health journey.
