Funded by Queensland Health, the Cancer-Free Cultures (CFC) Program aims to empower communities in Queensland to improve cancer awareness, prevention, and access to screening services.
The program is available for multicultural community members aged 18 years and over, residing across Queensland. Sessions have been co-designed and tailored with communities and are delivered in community language or simplified English by trained Bilingual Health Workers. Sessions focus on the prevention of five main cancers, including breast, bowel, cervical, lung, and skin, and are delivered face-to-face or online.
Partnership with Cancer Council Queensland supports co-design training for staff and tailoring of cancer risk assessment tools. This initiative will be evaluated by The University of Queensland.
