Chronic Disease team provides education for Communify Community Hubs

As the saying goes “health is wealth”, and over the last few weeks ECCQ’s Chronic Disease Program has connected with Communify Queensland to support Community Hubs across southeast Brisbane. Multicultural Health Workers from our program, visited five hubs including Inala, Acacia Ridge and Moorooka. Sessions were facilitated in language and simple English, alongside the hubs existing programs. In these, community members from a range of cultures came together to upskill, attend English support classes and other activities, including food co-ops and sewing classes.

ECCQ delivered education and provided take home resources to community members on how to reduce their risk of chronic disease and boost their immunity during the winter seasons, discussing the importance of healthy dietary habits, exercising and completing health checks to stay on top of their health.
