Community sector development in Toowoomba

ECCQ’s Community Sector Development Officer Claudia Diaz travelled to Toowoomba on 4 August to meet with members of community associations including the South Sudanese Associations, Afghani Social Group and a Syrian group working on becoming incorporated.

In partnership with CatholicCare TRAMS, she delivered a workshop on governance for associations for 15 community association representatives who learned about effective management strategies, management committee responsibilities, overcoming organisation challenges, volunteer management and the benefits of good governance including fundraising and access to grants and government funds.

The Community Sector Development Program is funded by Multicultural Affairs Queensland.

If you and/or your association would like a workshop or mentoring, please contact Claudia on 0427 954 803 or by emailing Claudiad@eccq.com.au.
