ECCQ’s Multicultural Advisory Service

The Multicultural Advisory Service (MAS) is supported by funding under the Sector Support & Development from the Australian Government under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). Visit the Department of Health website (www.health.gov.au) for more information.

  • We build cultural capacity within the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) for service providers to better respond to the needs of multicultural communities
  • We also support multicultural communities to maintain wellness and reablement and to access culturally appropriate care and services by providing information, education and individual support.

Multicultural Advisory Service Resources

For service providers

  • Design and deliver free cultural diversity training for CHSP providers (view our Professional Development flyer for more information)
  • Hold open events, workshops and forums
  • Help you in addressing cultural diversity in your organisation, in accordance with the National Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Provide you with free resources to support culturally appropriate care and service provision
  • Provide free consultation about working with multicultural clients and communities
  • Assist you to establish networks and promote your services to multicultural communities.

For multicultural communities

  • Provide free information and education sessions for your community about keeping healthy, accessing My Aged Care, and staying safe from COVID-19
  • Help you with accessing culturally safe care and navigating My Aged Care
  • We provide you with useful resources about health and ageing.
