ECCQ Board Member Appointments

Dear Members and Associates of the Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland,

Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ), Queensland’s peak body representing culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities in Queensland, welcomes two newly appointed members to its Board, Dr Homa Forotan and Ms Tracey Silvester.

Dr Forotan and Ms Silvester bring to the table impressive knowledge and experience:

Dr Homa Forotan is a Medical Doctor at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in the Coronary Care Unit and Bicultural Consultant at Queensland Transcultural Mental Health.  In addition to holding a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Dr Forotan holds a Dual Masters in International Public Health / Health Management. In 2008, Dr Forotan was awarded as the Young Queenslander of the Year in recognition of her outstanding community service and academic achievements.

Ms Tracey Silvester brings more than 25 years in the health and aged care management sector. A registered nurse since 1989, Ms Silvester also teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students at Griffith University’s Health Services Management Department in health workforce, health economics and healthcare systems. Tracey is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Managers.       

We look forward to working with Dr Forotan and Ms Silvester during their appointment.  Dr Forotan and Ms Silvester will join the ECCQ Board from 22 June 2022 for a period of 12 months as Co-opted Directors with full director authority.
