The Way We Respond: Practical Leadership Guidance for Aged Care

The Way We Respond: Practical Leadership Guidance for Aged Care

Aged care services depend on skilled, committed employees to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality care. In a sector shaped by regulatory change, workforce shortages, and increasing complexity, keeping good employees engaged has become one of the most important leadership tasks managers carry.

This resource provides practical tools to support consistent leadership responses that influence workforce engagement, early escalation of risk, and staff retention. The work was developed by Mary Ellen Doyle, a People & Culture (HR) and Leadership & Workforce Strategy Advisor who works with aged care managers and executive teams on workforce engagement, leadership practice, and managing people risk in regulated care environments.

The guide is the result of a collaboration of Sector Support Development (SDD) partners Ethnic Communities Council of NSW (ECCNSW), Multicultural Communities Council of South Australia (MCCSA), and ECCQ Multicultural Partners.
