What does dementia mean across different cultures, and how can we provide care that recognises and respects each person’s unique identity, experiences and cultural background?

As part of this year’s Dementia Action Week theme, “Let’s Talk About Dementia,” join us for an open conversation exploring dementia through a cultural lens. We will be joined by Daniela Russo, neuro educator, gerontologist and founder of Between Neurons. Together we will challenge assumptions, share perspectives and consider how culture can shape the way dementia is understood and experienced.

The session will also officially launch our new online, self-paced course, Seeing the Person: Introduction to Dementia and Culturally Responsive Care, developed and facilitated by Daniela. We’ll provide an introduction to the course and explore how it can support greater understanding and confidence in providing culturally responsive dementia care.

There will be a Q&A at the end of the session, and we encourage participants to submit any questions they may have about these topics before the session using the form below.

Join us for this conversation as we look beyond the diagnosis, see the person living with dementia, and explore what culturally responsive dementia care can look like in practice.
