People and Culture

The People and Culture team has been hard at work, ensuring a seamless and enriching experience for our ECCQ family. From updating our onboarding processes to conducting individual calculations and issuing personalized letters for the Aged Care wage increases, we are dedicated to the well-being of our staff. Our commitment extends to the preparation of a comprehensive Staff Survey to amplify the voices of all employees. Over 60 fixed-term Home Care Workers received new employment contracts, while we successfully secured funding for and completed four job creation programs for trainees.

Furthermore, we revamped our Work Health & Safety policies, supporting the growth at Berlasco with the recruitment and onboarding of 97 staff. Our transition from manual to automated job offers and the implementation of a staff newsletter underscore our commitment to seamless communication. Lastly, we facilitated the conversion of Mandatory Training to the HCA system, ensuring the training of 245 staff in a total of 2,298 courses. These milestones reflect our dedication to fostering a thriving and supportive ECCQ community. 

Plans for the year ahead include a comprehensive Staff Engagement survey to allow us to objectively hear and prioritise the concerns of our staff relating to the workplace in every aspect. This will allow us to draw up plans for improvement and communicate back to staff regarding our plans. We are systematically working to de-casualise the workforce in order to enhance the permanence of work contracts, to the benefit of staff and employer.
