Extensions for Community Associations’ AGMs
Queensland based incorporated association, ruled under the Associations Incorporations Act 1981 must hold their Annual General Meetings within the six months following the end of the association’s year (end of the year is defined in their constitution).
Due to the social restrictions we face due to COVID-19, the Office of Fair Trading has granted an automatic extension of six months to incorporated associations. In effect, this may result in a management committee’s term extending longer than is described in the rules. Given the extenuating circumstances, the OFT hopes members will be understanding.
If you have any questions or need support for your association, ECCQ Sector Development Officer, Claudia is meeting regularly with groups and associations through Zoom, and can be reached by email to [email protected].
