ECCQ Multicultural Communities Networking Lunch

ECCQ hosted a lunch to encourage meaningful conversations around politics, issues affecting our communities and how to engage in the political system.

The lunch was lead by ECCQ CEO Peter Last and attended by, Mr Dave Sharma MP, Member for Wentworth, Councillor Vicki Howard, representing the Lord Mayor and members of ECCQ, community leaders and ECCQ Directors and staff.

Dave Sharma spoke of Australia as a positive example of multiculturalism around the world and commended ECCQ and its members for their commitments to community. Sharma responded to questions from the audience and said he appreciated hearing directly from communities about salient issues.

We thank everyone who attended on the day and extend our appreciation to all our members who continue to contribute their time and insights that enrich and inform ECCQ’s work.

Members told us they were pleased with the event and would like more opportunities like this in the future.

This members’ event is part of ECCQ’s commitment to assist members to participate in the political system, increase civic engagement and build their social and political networks.
